The Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener is supplied with the Conical Diamond Wheel Fine fully assembled and ready to use. However, if your diamond wheel gets damaged or worn out it can be replaced with this spare part.

How long does the diamond wheel for the Tormek T-1 last?

The conical diamond wheel (DF-150) lasts for a thousand plus sharpenings. It is not possible to give a precise answer because it depends on how the diamond wheel is used. In the vast majority of households, it will allow you to sharpen your knives for a lifetime, or more. The finish of the diamond wheel will get finer and finer over time and if you ever want to replace it with a brand new one, we recommend keeping the earlier one for times when you want an extra fine finish.

Recycling?

The board works well and was easy to install. However, I expected the original disc to last longer. Is it not possible to recycle these discs and get a new diamond coating?
